FHP: Crash closes traffic on SR 46

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed and two others were injured in a crash involving motorcycles Friday afternoon in Seminole County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the incident was reported around 3:25 p.m. as a wreck on State Road 46 and Old Geneva Road.

Ronald Hagen, of Deltona, died. The 68-year-old was riding a motorcycle westbound on SR 46 during a heavy rainstorm when he traveled into the eastbound lanes, slamming into a pickup truck, according to a statement from the FHP.

Hagen was then hit by another man on a motorcycle after the initial impact.

The pickup truck driver and the other motorcyclist were hurt -- one seriously and the other only suffering minor injuries, troopers said. The crash remains under investigation.

State Road 46 was shut down following the crash, the Highway Patrol said.
