MARION COUNTY, Fla. – An Ocala man died Saturday after he was thrown from his bicycle on County Road 484, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Dominick Gonzales was 59, according to an FHP statement issued Sunday.

Gonzales was riding on the paved shoulder of CR 484 about 11:55 a.m., heading east, when a truck hit him from behind.

Gonzales was thrown onto the south shoulder of the road. Marion County Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene of the crash.
