Driver sought after running from crash in Ocoee

ORLANDO, Fla. – A search for a shooting suspect after multiple gunshots were heard overnight in Orange County led to a chase and crash Wednesday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they heard 20 to 25 gunshots coming from the Steak 'n Shake at 7101 West Colonial Drive around 3:35 a.m.

When they heard the gunfire, deputies drove to the restaurant and saw two drivers fleeing. Authorities said that's when they began chasing one of the vehicles.

The fleeing driver eventually crashed on White Road near Clarke Road in Ocoee, but continued fleeing on foot, deputies said.

The Sheriff's Office launched a massive search for the suspect, but were not able to find him.

Deputies said one gun was found in the car following the crash and two were found at the Steak 'n Shake restaurant.

There were no immediate reports of injuries after the shooting, according to the Sheriff's Office.
