'The Weekly' talks recounts with Osceola County supervisor of elections

ORLANDO, Fla. – As we await the results of a manual recount in the races for U.S. Senate and agriculture commissioner, one elections supervisor is offering an in-depth perspective on how the recount process works.

News 6 anchor Justin Warmoth stopped by the Osceola County Supervisor of Elections office to interview Mary Jane Arrington for Sunday's "The Weekly on ClickOrlando.com."

"I expected recounts, but not three statewide recounts at the same time," Arrington said. "This has never happened before."

Arrington said her staff has been working 12- to 15-hour shifts since the first machine recount was ordered in the races for governor, agriculture commissioner and Senate.

Because this year's midterms are unprecedented, Arrington isn't sure how long it could play out.

"There are a lot of lawsuits flying around, so it depends totally on the courts and what they decide," she said. "I hope it doesn't go into December, but it's possible."

You can watch the full interview Sunday at 8 a.m. on News 6.
