Driver flees after striking deputy on motorcycle in Orange County, officials say

2 men apprehended, facing charges

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A deputy suffered injuries after a vehicle he was attempting to pull over struck him and drove away, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officials said as the deputy was attempting to pull over a black Audi at the intersection of Pine Hills Road and West Colonial Drive, the driver intentionally drove toward the deputy’s motorcycle, collided with it and then drove away.

Deputies said they later apprehended two men, both 24, in connection with the crash after locating the car.

Sheriff’s Office officials said a loaded 9 mm handgun was found nearby the two men. They are both in custody pending multiple charges, including aggravated battery and burglary of an occupied dwelling.

The deputy who was struck on the motorcycle suffered minor injuries to his hand, the Sheriff’s Office said.
