Driver of pickup fatally strikes bicyclist, fails to stop, FHP says

Victim identified as Donald Mosher, 48

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist dead Sunday night.

Troopers said Melissa Kidd, 38, was driving a pickup truck north on South Clayton Street when she failed to slow down and struck the back of the bicyclist, Donald Mosher, 48, of Mount Dora.

The FHP said Kidd failed to immediately stop, but became disabled about 1 mile from the crash.

Mosher was taken to Florida Hospital Waterman, where he later died, FHP officials said.

Troopers said charges are pending against Kidd.

No other details were immediately released.
