BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed Saturday night when he walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle, according to officials from the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the official crash report, the crash happened just after 7 p.m. on U.S. Highway 1 near Baldwin Drive in Brevard County. The report states the pedestrian, 54-year-old James Newman, of West Melbourne, walked in front of an oncoming vehicle.
Troopers said Newman was not in a crosswalk when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation.
