Man hospitalized after arm gets stuck on Typhoon Lagoon attraction, officials say

Officials: Victim had his arm stuck between belts

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – A man was hospitalized after his arm got stuck in the conveyor belt system of an attraction at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said deputies went to the 1100 block of Buena Vista Drive just after 1 p.m. regarding a man who was stuck in the conveyor belt system of the Miss Adventures Falls attraction.

Disney employees were attempting to free the 44-year-old victim from the conveyor belt system when deputies arrived, officials said.

The victim had his arm stuck between the belts, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Officials said Reedy Creek Fire Rescue personnel arrived and were able to get the victim's arm free from the belt system.

"A guest's arm was injured while on the Miss Adventure Falls water attraction at Typhoon Lagoon," a Disney spokeswoman said. "The attraction is currently closed while we review the incident. Right now, our care and concern is with the guest and his family."

The victim was airlifted to Osceola Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
