MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested on allegations of tampering with evidence after another man was shot Monday night in Marion County.
The shooting was reported in the 8200 block of Fairways Circle near Ocala. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, deputies said.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office said Samuel Hudson was arrested after he disposed of a gun for the victim.
Deputies said a witness saw Hudson place a gun near some bushes and a dumpster, and Hudson was detained.
Hudson said he waited in a car when the man went into his apartment, according to deputies. A few minutes later, the man placed a backpack in Hudson's car and shots rang out, officials said.
According to a sheriff's report, Hudson ran away and called 911. When he returned, the shooting victim told him to get rid of his gun, which was in his backpack, officials said.
Hudson was arrested and taken to jail.
No details about the suspected shooter have been released.
