PALM BAY, Fla. – Two men – including a 47-year-old Ft. Pierce man taken into custody in Martin County over the weekend – were arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Palm Bay man in January, police report.

Members of a fugitive task force located Frederick Switzer in Martin County and took him into custody Sunday on a Brevard County warrant, News 6 partner Florida Today reported.

The other man, Robert Williams, 28, was also detained in a separate arrest in Okeechobee County, said Lt. Steve Bland of the Palm Bay Police Department. Both face murder and armed robbery charges, Bland added.

“They were arrested in connection with the homicide,” Bland said. "Both of them were out of the county."

The slaying – the seventh reported homicide to take place in Brevard County this year – happened at a home in the 700 block of Furth Road in the northwest section of Palm Bay.

Salvatore Callari, 28, a native New Yorker and father of a 7-year-old child, was shot to death in the home after possibly after returning to the residence. Police would not say what brought the suspects to Callari’s home or what the motive may have been for the slaying.

Neighbors living in the area described Callari as a quiet neighbor who could be seen sitting in his garage or walking around the house. It was not immediately known how soon the suspects could be brought back to Brevard County.
