Man accused of abducting Titusville mom, children at gunpoint

Amber Alert canceled Wednesday morning

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A man accused of kidnapping a woman and her two children at gunpoint has been arrested and an Amber Alert has been canceled, according to the Titusville Police Department.

Police said Lloyd A. Burson kidnapped Melanie Martin, Angel Sunday Burson, 5, and Lloyd E. Burson, 3, around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue.

An Amber Alert was issued around 2 a.m. Wednesday. It was lifted around 5 a.m. when the mother and children were found safe at Lloyd A. Burson’s residence in Daytona Beach, records show.

Lloyd A. Burson was taken into custody at that time on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, battery domestic violence, kidnapping, violation of parole and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
