2nd arrest made in stabbing death of teen in Sanford

Jamel Berry arrested for part in death of Kaleb Rabun, 16

SANFORD, Fla. – Police have made a second arrest in the Sept. 19 stabbing death of Kaleb Rabun, 16.

Police said Rabun was found stabbed in the chest in a car outside a building at Stonebrook Apartments in Sanford.

Police determined that Rabun and two friends were at the apartment complex to meet Justin W. Seale, 20. The two friends, Jamel Rohan Berry and Joshua Davis, told police that they planned to rob Seale and take his drugs, according to the police report.

When Seale arrived, he and Rabun fought inside a vehicle. When Rabun got out, he had been stabbed and collapsed, police said.

Police said the Sanford Fire Department provided medical attention to Rabun, but he died at the scene.

Police arrested Seale in September, at which time they said Berry and Davis would not face charges. However, Police said Berry was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of his involvement in the fatal stabbing. He is charged with murder during a specific felony.

"At 16, our young adults should be focused on enjoying high school, friends, family, and thinking about their future," Sanford police Chief Cecil Smith said. "I encourage all parents to talk to their children about how one bad decision, can quickly have devastating consequences."

Seale was initially charged with first-degree murder, but a judge lowered that charge to third-degree felony murder.
