3 men accused of trying to rob Marion County internet cafe

MCSO: Vehicle pursuit, perimeter set up after suspects flee scene

OCALA, Fla. – Three men were arrested Saturday night after they tried to rob an internet cafe and were caught by detectives who were conducting surveillance in the area, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they were watching the area because of the number of armed robberies that have recently occurred in Marion County when they spotted two masked men with guns around 11:30 p.m.

Tlarence Munnerlyn, 21, and William Charles Jackson, 20, were approaching an internet cafe on NE 14th Street in Ocala when detectives intervened before the men could enter it, according to deputies.

Both suspects then fled to a nearby get-away car driven by Toney Cobb, 22, according to the incident report. Detectives apprehended Munnerlyn before he could reach the vehicle, but Jackson and Cobb both fled the scene in the car.

Detectives then began a vehicle pursuit for the two men, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Officials said the pursuit lasted nearly two miles and ended on the 1100th block of NW 10th Street when detectives conducted a precision immobilization technique on the vehicle Cobb was driving and disabled it.

Once the chase ended, Jackson was taken into custody, but Cobb fled on foot, according to the report.

Officials then established a perimeter between the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Ocala Police Department and used the MCSO's Aviation Unit's Air One to locate Cobb, deputies said.

Cobb was located hiding in the residential area and was was taken into custody by the officers and detectives using Air One.

The investigation to find out if these men are responsible for other nearby robberies is till ongoing.
