INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. - Three people from Palm Bay were rescued Thursday evening after their boat capsized about a half mile off shore in the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian River County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies responded to the area of the Sebastian Inlet around 6:30 p.m. after reports were received of the three people in the water. Approximately 30 minutes later, the Sheriff's Office said its Aviation Unit found three males in the water and deployed a life raft from a helicopter.
Officials said the males made it safely to shore.
Deputies said the victims were on an 18-foot boat that was overtaken by rough waters.
No other details were immediately released.
