VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - Five people were pulled from rip currents Saturday, Volusia County Beach Safety personnel said.
The red flag was flying due to rip current conditions.
Volusia County Beach Safety personnel said they had two water rescues Saturday, in which five people were pulled from rip currents.
As a precaution, two people were transported from New Smyrna Beach after they were rescued from a rip current at 2:45 p.m., officials said. They are expected to recover with no medical issues.
Volusia County Beach Safety personnel said they expect the same conditions to persist throughout the weekend.
Officials said to use caution when swimming in the ocean and to swim near a lifeguard.
