Allegiant Air flight from Sanford makes emergency landing

Plane carrying 161 lands safely in Jacksonville

SANFORD, Fla. - An Allegiant Air flight from Sanford made an emergency landing in Jacksonville Wednesday morning because of pressurization problems.

Flight 758 was headed to Indianapolis when it began experiencing problems.

The plane turned around just west of Savannah, Georgia and headed for Jacksonville, according to FlightAware.com.

"An emergency was declared for a pressurization issue and the aircraft landed safely at JAX at 8:43 a.m.  The aircraft has been taken out of service and will be inspected by our maintenance team to determine the issue," Allegiant said in a statement.

There were 155 passengers and six Allegiant crew members on board. No one was injured.

Passengers were given food at the gate, the option to change their flight to another Allegiant flight and $50 vouchers for future travel on Allegiant.

A replacement plane was sent to JAX from Sanford.
