Allegiant passengers delayed for hours due to electrical issue

Flight from Sanford to Raleigh delayed

SANFORD, Fla. – Passengers on an Allegiant Airlines flight are delayed for hours due to problems on board one of the company's jets.

The flight took off just after 8 a.m. Monday from Orlando Sanford International Airport on the way to Raleigh, North Carolina, but the airline says it had to turn around because of an electrical issue on board.

Those passengers ended up waiting for 10 hours before they were able to finally take off on another plane.

The latest problem comes just weeks after News 6 reported the FAA had moved up a safety evaluation of Allegiant after mechanical problems caused several emergency landings. That review is expected to take several more weeks to complete.
