APOPKA, Fla. - Apopka investigators say surveillance photos released Sunday helped them track down and arrest a rape suspect on Monday night.

James Iry Johnson, 42, was booked into Orange County jail just after 9 p.m. on Monday. He faces charges of sexual battery, kidnapping and battery.

Apopka police said Johnson picked up a woman in the Parramore area of Orlando and brought her to Apopka, where the sexual battery occurred. Officers say Johnson then dropped off the woman at Clarcona-Ocoee Road, where she notified authorities.

Police released surveillance pictures on Sunday showing a man who was labeled as a person of interest in the case. The pictures also showed the vehicle that was believed to be involved.

Officers were able to use those pictures to track down Johnson, question him and subsequently arrest him for sexual battery.

Johnson's bail was originally set at $10,250 and he was scheduled to go before a judge for the first time on Tuesday.
