Troopers said Tatum was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima on U.S. 192 and Seven Dwarfs Lane around 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2015, when he struck Benjamin Hayams as the pedestrian was crossing the road.

That same night, Tatum left the Altima about a half-mile away from the crash scene, according to a news release. Troopers said his wife then reported it stolen.

Tatum's license was suspended at the time of the crash, authorities said.
