ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Orange County deputies have made an arrest in the 2013 killing of a father of four.
Lance Whitten was shot and killed in November 2013 on Keri Court, just west of Hiawassee Road in Orlando. Deputies said Whitten was visiting a friend when he was ambushed and shot at close range multiple times.
Calvin McClain, 30, was charged with first-degree murder in Whitten's death.
J'Morian Bell, who was previously arrested and charged, pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder in Whitten's death. Bell also entered a guilty plea for attempted homicide in the West Orange High School shooting.
Antwaun Welch is currently serving a 17-year robbery sentence, and is also charged with first-degree murder.
Local 6 was the first to tell Whitten's parents and his sister about the arrest of Calvin McClain.
The family said he's the one who pulled the trigger.
"I'm just glad this guy has finally been caught," said Sunny Stienmetz, Whitten's older sister. "This was a cold-blooded killing and he deserves everything he gets and I hope he gets what's coming to him."
After months of being on the run, McClain was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the Orange County Sheriff's Office's felony squad.
"Now I can finally rest and my mom can rest and his kids can rest knowing all three of these guys are going to be prosecuted," Stienmetz said.
McClain is set to appear before a judge Wednesday for his first appearance.
