AT&T customers in DeLand unable to call 911, deputies say

DeLAND, Fla. – UPDATE: Deputies said Thursday afternoon that the AT&T outage had been resolved.

AT&T customers in the DeLand area may be unable to call 911 due to a service interruption, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies said another cellphone with a different service provider or a landline phone may be the only way to contact 911 until AT&T resolves the issue.

Users within an approximately mile-and-a-half radius of the DeLand tower are the only customers affected. Those AT&T customers outside of the area should not be affected.

It is unclear how long the outage will last.
