Atlas V rocket launch scrubbed again

Third attempt expected next week

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - The United Launch Alliance Atlas V from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station was scrubbed again again Friday night for the second day in a row for weather.

The rocket will carry the United States Navy's MUOS-1 satellite.

MUOS is a next-generation narrowband tactical satellite communications system designed to significantly improve communications for U.S. forces on the move, according to United Launch Alliance officials.
MUOS will provide military users 10 times more communications capability over existing systems, including simultaneous voice, video and data, leveraging 3G mobile communications technology.
