Armed intruders wake Avalon Park man, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was awakened early Sunday morning when three armed men broke into his home, Orange County Sheriff's Office officials said.

Deputies were called to the Avalon Park home on Thamhall Way at 2:44 a.m, official said. The victim told authorities he was struck by one of the intruders, but he managed to escape.

Deputies did not disclose what was stolen from the home.

The intruders fled, deputies said. Authorities searched the area, but did not find any suspects.

The victim sustained a minor injury and declined medical attention, deputies said.

Orange County Sheriff's Office robbery units are investigating the home invasion, officials said.
