Bertha strengthens into hurricane

Storm currently poses no threat to land

ORLANDO, Fla. - Hurricane Bertha has formed in the Atlantic, but the system poses no immediate threat to land.

As of 10:45 a.m. Monday, the storm was located 415 miles east of Miami.

Bertha packed winds of 80 mph and was moving north at 17 mph.

The storm was expected to continue moving north on a parallel course with the United States, but it is eventually expected to curve to the northwest.
