ORLANDO, Fla. - With school districts throughout Florida facing millions of dollars in cuts, lawmakers are once again trying to clear the way to allow advertisements on school buses.
A bill was recently filed in the state House that would allow local districts to give the green light for commercial advertising on buses.
Similar bills have been filed in the past, but have never made it to the governor's desk.
According to the bill, the ads would have some restrictions, preventing certain products, such as alcohol or cigarettes, from being displayed.
Monies generated from the ads would be used for transportation costs.
