BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is searching for the culprit who they say broke into three different Supercuts and stole thousands of dollars of hair products.
Deputies said received 911 calls on Wednesday from three different Supercuts locations and all three were broken into the same way -- forced entry through the back door.
The three locations were on Murrell Road in Rockledge, State Road 520 on Merritt Island and Courtenay Parkway, also on Merritt Island.
Employees say the crooks only took hair products, leaving flat irons, blow dryers and clippers behind.
"They didn't touch any of our equipment, thank God for that, but we also did lose a lot of our holiday supplies," said Shauna Durand, a shift manager at the Supercuts on Courtenay Parkway on Merritt Island.
Durand says the crooks almost wiped out their entire stock and with shampoos and conditioners running at almost $30 a piece, she thinks they got away with almost $7,000 worth of products from her store.
"It upsets me because my clients do like those products and now we're going to be short-handed on our stock until we can get a new shipment in, but it definitely makes me feel a little uneasy," she said.
Investigators say that they Courtenay Parkway store was the only salon where products were reported missing. They say at the other two locations, the thieves popped the locks, turned the lights off, but never took anything.
Durand says she's never heard of anything like it. "I could see maybe other retail stores or something like that, but not stealing shampoos," she said.
According to police, the three stores that were hit did not have security cameras, but the Publix in the same shopping plaza may have caught the get away car.
If you have any information about these burglaries, call the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
