CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - A Brevard County mom is facing charges after she was arrested for drunk driving with her child in the car.

According to arrest documents, 47-year-old Susan Baker was driving on S.R. A1A in Cape Canaveral, swerving in and out of the lines on the road around 2 p.m. Thursday.

A Brevard County sheriff's deputy was sitting at a red light and noticed the Palm Bay woman's blue Ford SUV drifting in and out of traffic, arrest records show.

The arrest report says Baker was "not driving at a constant speed, but was speeding up and slowing down."

As the deputy caught up to her, she allegedly couldn't keep her SUV on the road. He then turned his lights on and pulled her over on suspicion of DUI.

Baker's eyes were glossy, her speech was slurred and she reeked of alcohol, according to arrest documents.

Once the deputy asked for her driver's license and registration he noticed Baker's child sleeping in the back seat.

The arrest report says Baker cooperated and performed a field sobriety and breathalyzer test.

She failed the field sobriety test and blew a .171, twice the legal limit.

Local 6 was told the child wasn't hurt and was picked up by their father at the sheriff's office.

Baker posted her $2,500 bond and DCF is investigating.
