Brush fire near Geneva homes fully contained

Fire burns behind Seminole Woods subdivision

GENEVA, Fla. – A 75-acre brush fire burning near homes in Geneva is 100 percent contained, officials said Tuesday morning.

Some residents in the Seminole Woods subdivision evacuated their homes Monday as the fire approached their houses.

Swampy areas are making the fire difficult to access, Seminole County fire officials said.

Firefighters will remain in the area Tuesday to monitor the fire.

Fog and smoke signs have also been posted in the area to alert drivers.

Dry, warm weather is creating ripe conditions for brush fires.
