Burglars hit Mount Dora couple's home 3 times; $10K reward offered

Police say elderly couple was in home during each burglary

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Mount Dora police are searching for three men who they say burglarized the same house three times in a 10-day period while an elderly couple was in the home.

The armed burglaries were reported on Nov. 9, 13 and 19.

According to Mount Dora police, the culprits, who appeared to be the same in each burglary, took cash, a purse and other valuables all three times.

A security camera captured video of the trio entering the house through the first floor, police said. 

The men were wearing what appeared to be T-shirts over their faces, and two of them wore Michael Jordan apparel, police said.

One of the men was armed with a handgun, police said.

The assailants were described by police as three white men, each of whom is 18 to 25 years old.

No other details about the burglaries have been released.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Crimeline at 800-432-TIPS and could be eligible for a $10,000 reward.
