'Hiring Our Heroes' Job Fair stops in Melbourne

ORLANDO, Fla. - More than 45 employers are expected to participate in a special job fair for veterans and military spouses of all "ranks and levels of experience" Wednesday in Melbourne.

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tides Collocated Club
on Patrick Air Force Base. Interested job seekers should register for free at Walk-ins will also be allowed but veterans must provide proof of their service.

Companies range from America's biggest employers to dozens of small companies from the region.

Since "Hiring Our Heroes" started its job recruiting effort in 2011, more than 1,200 companies have participated in 650 hiring fairs that have accounted for the employment  of 20,200 veterans and military spouses.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Chamber Foundation and Capitol One have launched a campaign to hire half a million vets and their spouses by 2014.
