Carjackers force woman to go to Central Florida bank, shoot her in legs

PORT ORANGE, Fla. - A woman ran into a Port Orange McDonald's seeking help after being shot in the legs by carjackers who forced her to withdraw money from her bank account, police said.

The shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. at the Chase bank at Nova Road and Dunlawton.

According to police, the 22-year-old woman went to Walmart to buy some cigarettes and when she returned to an apartment complex, she was forced at gunpoint to drive to her bank.

While at the bank, the woman took the keys out of the ignition and ran away, but one of the gunmen shot her in the legs, police said.  The bullet went through one leg and lodged in her other leg, police said.

The woman went into a nearby McDonald's for help and was taken to Halifax Hospital.  Her condition was not released.

A detailed description of the culprits was not released.
