COCOA, Fla. – A Cocoa home was destroyed Monday evening in a fire, Cocoa fire officials said.
The home on Westchester Drive became engulfed in flames just after 5 p.m., Cocoa Fire Rescue personnel said. Several explosions could also be heard coming from the garage of the home, officials said.

Fire officials said the home had working smoke alarms that allowed the two people inside to safely make their way out of it.
Four dogs were also inside the home. Three of the dogs have been found safe, officials said. The fourth is believed to have run out when the flames started. Neighbors are helping look for the dog, official said.
Crews quickly gained control of the fire, but the home was already destroyed, firefighters said.
The homeowner is currently deployed to Afghanistan, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
