Cops: Boyfriend charged in Oviedo woman's death

Deputies say it was a domestic dispute gone wrong

OVIEDO, Fla. - Deputies are charging a woman's boyfriend with second degree murder after they found her dead and him seriously injured in their Oviedo apartment.

Seminole County Sheriff's deputies said the body of Carla Pagan, 28, was found in the unit number 206 of Mystic Cove Apartments overnight Thursday.

They also found her boyfriend Jorge Nieves, 25, with severe injuries. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries but is expected to survive, deputies said.

Deputies are charging him with second degree murder stemming from a domestic dispute inside the bedroom of the apartment. Two children, ages 3, and 11, were inside the apartment at the time but deputies said they didn't see the attack.

The kids are related to both Nieves and Pagan, but they won't specify the relationship. There was no gun involved, according to deputies, but deputies won't disclose what the weapon is.

The Sheriff's Office issued a release saying no other individuals are believed to have been involved.

A investigation is ongoing. Nieves will be taken to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility upon his release from the hospital.
