37-year-old Christopher Sharp, a Pizza Hut employee, is accused of impersonating a deputy after he lied to his live-in girlfriend about being a cop for five months.

SPRING HILL, Fla. - A Pasco County man is accused of impersonating a deputy after he had his girlfriend believing he was a cop for five months. 37-year-old Christopher Sharp actually worked at Pizza Hut.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says Sharp was trying to impress his girlfriend, but his scheme landed him in jail after his Feb. 22 arrest.

The Tampa Tribune reports that between August and January he told his live-in girlfriend that he was a Pasco deputy. He would come home wearing a Pasco County Sheriff's uniform, that he stole from his sister's boyfriend, and tell hisĀ  family and friends stories from his shift. He even entertained partygoers on New Year's Eve with stories about DUI enforcement.

Sharp was booked on fraud charges.
