DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - A cyclist was killed in Daytona Beach on Friday night after being struck by a pickup truck, according to officials from the Daytona Beach Police Department.

The cyclist, 38-year-old Tyrone Floyd Allen, was heading east as he crossed North Nova Road, near Brentwood Drive, according to a news release. The release states the pickup truck driver was driving north on the road, striking Allen as he crossed the street.

Officers said Allen was not in a crosswalk, did not have lights on his bike and violated the driver's right-of-way. Another witness at the scene told police that Allen also crossed in front of his vehicle.

The pickup driver remained at the scene. Officers do not anticipate any charges.
