ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - A man has been charged with aggravated child abuse after Altamonte Springs police say he beat up a 14-year-old boy for "fooling around" with his 13-year-old daughter.

Omar Negron Monserrate was arrested on Wednesday after police say he went to the 14-year-old boy's house on June 3 upon learning his daughter snuck out to meet him and beat him up.

Police said Monserrate made the boy get in his car, drove to a lake near the Lake Lotus apartment complex, yelled at the boy, punched him and choked him repeatedly, causing the boy to lose consciousness.

The boy was taken to Florida Hospital Altamonte by his mother to be treated for his injuries, which included a swollen lip, nose and eyes. Doctors also said the boy had "a concussion, facial contusion, a fractured nose and a possible injury to his eye."

Police said the 14-year-old told them he was chatting with a 13-year-old girl through Kik Messenger when the girl snuck out of her house to meet up with him through the boy's bedroom window at 9:30 p.m. The teen said he and the girl "fooled around" and the girl then left.

The 13-year-old girl was caught by her mother sneaking back into the house and the girl's mother and father went to the boy's house together to confront him, according to the arrest affidavit.

Police were unable to find Monserrate after the reported battery, but he was arrested on Thursday.

Police said Monserrate was already out on bond for domestic violence on charges of battering his wife in December.

Monserrate's bond was set on Thursday at $7,000.
