Daytona Beach restaurant owner fires back at robbers, police say

Costumers robbed at Sazon Latino Restaurant

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A restaurant owner who saw two of his patrons being robbed Thursday in the parking lot fired back when he was shot at, according to Daytona Beach Police.

A man and a woman were walking into Sazon Latino restaurant on Mason Avenue to pick up food when they were approached by two armed men who stole jewelry and others items from them, reported the Daytona Beach News Journal.

The owner told police that he heard yelling and stepped outside to find out what was going on. One of the robbers shot at the owner and the fired back, possibly hitting one or both of the robbers.

The restaurant owner was not hit, police said.

The robbers left the scene in a dark-colored Dodge Charger, according to Daytona Police. The investigation is ongoing.
