DCF continues sex abuse investigation at Lake County daycare

Kenneth Hagins still jailed on sex abuse charges

EUSTIS, Fla. - Department of Children and Families is continuing to investigate allegations of sex abuse by a Lake County daycare worker on Monday.

Kenneth Mar Hagins, 40, of Tavares, is jailed at the Lake County Detention Center on $200,000 bond as of Monday. Hagins, an employee at Pat's Kidz World Development Center in Eustis and at Sunrise Arc, a group home in Tavares, has been connected to at least six sexual assault cases against children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Pat's Kidz World voluntarily shut down Thursday in lieu of having its license revoked by the state. DCF officials said they believe the daycare owner, Patricia A. Scott, knew about allegations of child sex abuse but failed to report it to authorities.

DCF officials said they're worried the number of alleged victims could go up.

According to a report released Saturday, Hagins asked a young boy to give him oral sex. Another report states Hagins performed oral sex at least twice on an adult male with developmental disabilities.

Hagins has been charged with sexual battery and lewd and lascivious battery on a disabled person. Hagins is also a youth pastor with Promise Land Ministries in Eustis.
