Deputies: Bus passenger sets woman's hair on fire

Woman with lighter arrested, banned from bus for life

LYNNWOOD, Wash. - Deputies in Washington arrested a woman who they say lit another woman's hair on fire while on a bus.

Snohomish County deputies say video shows Robin Myers reaching into her pocket, pulling out a lighter and placing the flame next to another woman's hair.

According to deputies, a man who saw what happened reached across the aisle, stopped Myers and put out the small flames on the woman's hair.

"We transport 40,000 people a day, so that's a lot of people in close quarters," said Martin Munguia, a spokesman for Community Transit. "But I've never heard of someone lighting someone else's hair on fire."

Deputies took two Bic lighters and a bottle of hair spray from Myers. She was arrested for second-degree assault.

Community Transit banned Myers from using their buses for the rest of her life.
