Deputies: Man tried to kidnap teens after watching them swim

Randall Martin arrested in St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD, Fla. - A man accused of watching teens swim at an Osceola County RV park later tried to kidnap them before getting into a fight with the father of one of the girls, according to deputies.

Randall Martin, 46, of St. Cloud, was arrested Thursday night on charges of attempted kidnapping and aggravated assault.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called around 8:40 p.m. to 5150 Boggy Creek Road in St. Cloud and two females, ages 15 and 19, said a man whom they didn't know, later identified as Martin, was watching them swim at a RV park's community pool.

The teens said Martin drove up to them as they were walking home and asked them if they wanted a ride home, according to deputies.  Both girls told him no, but Martin demanded that they get into his truck and tried to grab one of the girls while pulling out a screwdriver, according to deputies.

"When he went to try to reach for her, she screamed out Daddy," said Chrissy McCarthy, who lives inside the RV Park and heard one of the girls scream.

The girls continued home and one of them told her father about the incident, deputies said.  Martin then drove up and got into a fight with the man, who was not injured, deputies said.

After putting deputies on a chase through the RV park, Martin was located under a trailer, trying to hide.

Martin was booked into the Osceola County Jail and his bond is set at $60,000. Martin has been hit with a list of charges, including two counts of attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault and resisting with violence.
