PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - A 15-year-old boy shot three friends with a pellet gun after they refused to smoke synthetic marijuana, deputies said.

Charlotte County sheriff's deputies arrested the teen Thursday night on three felony counts of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon.

Deputies say the boys were hanging out at a home in Port Charlotte when the teen lit a joint and passed it around. All three boys refused to smoke the joint, deputies say.

The teen became annoyed when one of the boys smacked it out of his hand, deputies said. The teen left but returned later with a pellet gun and started shooting.

A 14-year-old was shot in the back. One 15-year-old was shot in the calf, thumb and bicep and the other in the face, arm and back.
