2 men hurt with machete, Orange County deputies say

1 suffered life-threatening injuries

ORLANDO, Fla. – Deputies are investigating after two men were injured with a machete during an altercation at a residence, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies were sent to a home in the 4700 block of Eggelston Avenue just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies said there were multiple people inside the home when two more people known to the homeowner arrived. An argument ensued at the door, which escalated into a physical altercation.

The homeowner grabbed a machete as the altercation moved into his home. Deputies said that is when the two people were injured.

Deputies discovered one man outside on the ground with life-threatening injuries and a second man with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The first victim was stabilized by fire department rescue unit personnel and taken to Florida Hospital. His condition was not known.

No arrests have been made as the incident remains under investigation.
