Disney recalls 15,000 baby Mickey hoodies for choking hazard

Sweatshirts were sold in parks, online

Walt Disney is recalling 15,000 infant Minnie and Mickey hoodie sweatshirts that were sold in theme parks and on the Disney app because of a choking hazard.

The voluntary recall came after officials discovered that the snaps on the hoodie could detach and possibly choke a young child. No incidents of choking or any other injuries from the hoodies have been reported.

Minnie and Mickey Mouse infant hoodie sweatshirts were sold in sizes 6M, 12M, 18M and 24M at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista,  Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and on the Shop Disney Parks mobile app from April 2016 through October 2016 for about $30 each.

The affected Minnie Mouse hoodies will have date codes of FAC-010635-16194 or FAC-010635-16015 printed on a label on the left seam and a UPC code of  (6M) 400000175669, (12M) 400000175676, (18M) 400000175683 or (24M) 400000175690 printed on the hang tag.

Mickey Mouse hoodies will have date codes of FAC-010635-16220, FAC-010635-16015 or FAC-010635-16280 on the left side seam and a UPC code of (6M) 400000145433, (12M) 400000145440, (18M) 400000145457 or (24M) 400000145464 on the hang tag.

Anyone who purchased one of the affected hoodies should stop using the product immediately and contact Disney for a refund at 844-722-1444 and select option 2 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.disneyparks.com. Click on “Safety Recall” at the bottom of the page.
