Ormond Beach man makes discovery in woods near home

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A man searching for his crashed drone in a wooded area near the Volusia-Flagler county line discovered skeletal human remains, deputies said.

The discovery was made Wednesday in the Hunters Ridge subdivision, half of which is in Flagler County and the other part is in Volusia County. The bones were found in Flagler County, officials said.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said an Ormond Beach man found the remains in a wooded area behind his home. The remains were about 100 feet into the woods and have been there for at least a year, deputies said.

Investigators said they will conduct a search for other body parts next week.
