Principal says school will be 'locked down tight'

OCOEE, Fla. – Extra security will be posted at Ocoee High School on Friday after a threat was posted on social media, school officials said.

"We are aware of the social media posting that seemingly indicated violence on our campus," the school principal said in a message to parents. "The student was removed from our campus yesterday and will not be returning."

The principal said local police are at the student's house investigating. It's not clear if the student will be charged. 

"Everything will be locked down tight at Ocoee High School today," the principal said in the call.

Orange County Public Schools said parents were notified and the school campus is safe. 

Details about the threat posted were not released.
