The two-phase, two-week project will include removing striping and grinding down concrete on westbound lanes, and also will include more infrastructure work on the westbound side. Unexpected weather conditions may prolong the project's schedule, according to the release.

The project's second phase will include laying down asphalt, called an overlay, to cover the ground-down concrete surface.

The project will cost $377,838 and is contracted by Ranger Construction.

The Florida Department of Transportation urges drivers to buckle up, to be careful in construction zones and to not text and drive.
