Family searches for dog after crash on Ormond Beach I-95

1-year-old Pippin escapes after being in car during crash

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - A family is still searching for their dog they say was lost after the family got into a crash on Interstate 95 in Ormond Beach.

Pippin the 1-year-old pug has been missing for almost 72 hours after escaping out of his family's car moments after a crash on I-95.

Sarah Brescia, his owner, believes Pippin is in the woods along the interstate in Ormond Beach.

"Pipin is a year-and-a-half old," she said. "He is excitable and happy. He has the best qualities you could want in a dog."

Brescia was on her way home from college with Pippin when she was struck by another car on I-95.

"He was down in the bottom, down there. And he ran out through my door," said Brescia. "He was just so scared, he didn't know what was happening. there was glass that came down all over him."

Brescia said she feels guilty Pippin was at the bottom of the front seat.

"If I had just put in a crate, he would have been scared but he would have been safe," she said.

Brescia's friends and family are searching the woods along I-95. If you see Pippin, make note of the closest mile marker and call authorities at 863-632-0696.
