Family still searching for answers after Pine Hill shooting

Victim, Jeffery Webb, honored on what would have been 48th birthday

ORLO VISTA, Fla. – Nearly a year after Jeffery Webb died in a shooting in Orange County, his family came out to honor him on what would have been his 48th birthday as police keep searching for the shooter.

It felt like a birthday party, with a bounce house and cotton candy, instead of a vigil to honor and remember Webb.

"This is what he loved to do," said Tonya Webb, Jeffery's wife.

"If you knew Jeff, that's all he wanted you to do is laugh and have a good time," said Gwen Elder, Jeffery Webb's sister-in-law.

Webb was killed in December of last year near a convenience store on North Lane Parkway near Pine Hills Road.

Surveillance video released in February shows the man police say is responsible holding a rifle before Webb was killed and four others were injured.

"My husband was in the wrong place at the wrong time," Tonya Webb said.

County leaders said they're still waiting for an arrest and justice for Webb's family.

While police continue to search for the shooter, Webb's wife wants the community to take this as an opportunity to come together so something like this never happens again.

"Just speak up," she said. "If the community would come together, a lot of these homicides would be solved. You wouldn't have to work so hard like myself to get justice for my husband."

Anyone who has any information about who is responsible for Jeffery Webb's death is asked to call Orlando police.
