Orange County Sheriff's deputies say 1 baby survived

ORLANDO, Fla. – Local 6 spoke to Leon Huntley, the father of a 23-year-old woman shot and killed by her own husband (pictured, right).

Huntley wouldn't talk about what happened inside the apartment where the murder took place, but did share he is holding on to the hope that his grandchild will pull through.

"I would love to raise my grandson. I believe in God that God will make that happen," said Huntley.

Huntley's daughter, Alexis Boyce, had been 8 months pregnant with twin boys and he said she was looking forward to becoming a mom for the first time.

"Oh definitely, I mean wouldn't you be excited if you was having twins? I mean, what more could be a greater Christmas present than that?" said Huntley.

But in an instant it was all taken away after 33-year-old Michael Boyce (pictured, left) shot her in the head and then lied to deputies calling it a suicide.

While Boyce sits in jail, Huntley shares memories of his daughter and the support he's gotten from the community.

"She was a very beautiful young lady, one that was easily to love, easily to get along with, easily to be her friend," said Huntley. "A lot of people are very disgusted over this whole matter."

Michael Boyce is scheduled for a first appearance on first degree murder charges Saturday morning.
