According to the FHP, a Chevrolet SUV driven by a 24-year-old Orlando man was headed southbound on Goldenrod Road and struck the man.

Troopers said it's believed Rogus leaned over and tried to pick up a shiny piece of metal that resembled a dime when he was hit.

The right front of the SUV hit Rogus' head, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
